This outstanding 9:1 transformer box is made with a special 240x42 Toroid and wound with appropriate wire to serve for 300W SSB and CW and 100W Digital (we recommend 70W maximum under all situations for digital modes, to protect your radio from overheating). This does not come with wire. We have very nice wire elsewhere in the store.

Here are some commonly recommended lengths (in both metric and imperial measurements) that are considered to be efficient and easier to match:

• 41 meters (approximately 134 feet): This length works well across multiple bands and is a good general-purpose length.
• 31 meters (about 102 feet): Another efficient length, providing a good compromise between size and multi-band performance.
• 24 meters (roughly 79 feet): Shorter than the previous options, this length is easier to accommodate in smaller spaces.
• 17 meters (approximately 56 feet): This is a compact option for very limited spaces, though it might not perform as well on lower bands.

Remember, these are just starting points. The exact length can vary depending on your specific location, antenna height, surrounding environment, and the bands you wish to operate on. Sometimes, a bit of experimentation with wire lengths and checking the SWR across the bands can lead to the best results.

Using a good antenna tuner can also help optimize the performance of your random wire antenna. And don't forget, the quality of the coaxial cable, connectors, and the installation itself also play significant roles in the overall performance of your antenna system.
